A. Aims and objectives
- In this period, Ss practice speaking and listening. They learn how to identify school things.
- After the lesson , Ss can:
+ Use the words and phrases related to the topic school things.
+ Identify school things, using This/That is + (school things) and These/ Those are + (school things)
+ Talk about school things, using These / Those are....
B. Materials
- Ss: book Tieng anh 3.
- T: stereo, teaching plan, pictures.
C. Contents and organization.
I. Warm up
- T and Ss play game “Finding things”
II. Old lesson
Revise This/That is + (school things)
III. New lesson.
- Tell ss that they are going to talk about school things, using These / Those are..... T point to the first picture and elicit name of the teacher. Then explain what the characters say and the meaning of the new vocabulary.
- Play the recording twice times. SS listen and repeat.
- Get ss to work in pairs to practice the dialogue..
- Call some pairs to practise aloud. T listen and give feedback.

- Tell pls that they are going to practice saying These/ Those are + (school things)

- Point to each picture and check comprehendsion. Teach the new vocabulary.
- have Ss repeat the new words a few times.
- Point the 1st pic and elicit the word to fill the gap. Put the sentence on the board. Have pls repeat it a few times.
- Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book.
- Ss work in pairs.
- T check as a class.

- Tell Ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. Give a few seconds for pls to look at the pictures.
- T elicit the words to fill the gaps.
- Write the sentence on the board.
- Get pls to repeat a few times.
- Get ss to work in pairs, take turns to practice the sentence.
- Call some pairs to perform the task in front of the class.
- T correct the pronounciation, if necessary.
IV. Consolidation
- T remind the structure.

- After the lesson , Ss can:
+ Use the words and phrases related to the topic school things.
+ Identify school things, using This/That is + (school things) and These/ Those are + (school things)
+ Talk about school things, using These / Those are....
+ pronounce the sounds of the letters r and th in the words ruler and these respectively.

- Ss repeat.
- Play the recording 1st time.
- Play twice times.
- Divide ss into 2 groups and repeat.
- Call some Ss to pracise aloud.
- Listen and correct ss’ misstakes if necessary.
