- In this period, Ss practice speaking, reading and listening. They learn how to greet and self-introduction.
- After the lesson , Ss will be able to:
+ Pronounce the sounds of the letters b and h in the words bye and hello respectively.
+ Listen and write down the answers.

- T: stereo, teaching plan, pictures.

Revise Hi/ Hello. How are you? And I’m fine, thanks / thank you.

New lesson
Tell pls that they are going to practice saying the letters, words and sentences in the book.
Write the letters b and h on the board. Say them a few times.
Ss repeat.
Play the recording 1st time.
Play twice times.
Divide ss into 2 groups and repeat.
Call some Ss to pracise aloud.
Listen and correct ss’ misstakes if necessary.

Tell ss the listening purposes.
Get ss to read the text.
Play the recording 3 times.
Get Ss check their answers in pairs.
Call on some Ss write down the answer on the board.
T comment and give feedback.
Get pls to work in pairs and practice saying sentences.

Tell pls that they are going to say Hello chant.

T read the chant and check comprehension.

Play the recording a few times for pls to do choral and individual repetition.

T show how to chant and do the actions.

Get Ss sit face to face and practice chanting and doing the actions.

Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm of the chant.


Tell pupils that they are going to read all the sentences on the left and pair them with those on the right by drawing a line between them.
Ask ss to read the text in silence.
Do example with the first pair.
Get ss to work in pairs.
Call some Ss to give their answers.
