A. Aims and objectives
- In this period, Ss practice speaking and listening. They learn how to introduce one’s friends and respond to the introduction.
- After the lesson , Ss can:
+ Use the words and phrases related to the topic Are they your friends?
+ Introduce a friend , using This is my friend + (name)
+ Listen and tick the pictures they hear.
B. Materials
- Ss: book Tieng anh 3.
- T: stereo, teaching plan, pictures.
C. Contents and organization.
I. Warm up
- T and Ss greet.
II. Old lesson
- Revise : This is + name. Who’s that? It’s + name.
III. New lesson.
- T use pupets to elicit name of the characters.
- Tell ss that they are going to practice introducing their friends using This is my friend + name.
- Play the recording twice times.
- Get ss to work in pairs to practise.
- Call some pairs to practise aloud. T listen and give feedback.

- Point to the pictures in the book and elicit name of the characters. Tell pls that they are going to practice introducing their friend. Using This is my friend + name.
- Elicit the words to fill the gap.
- Get ss to work in pairs
- Go around to offer help.
- Call some pairs to practise aloud.
- Listen and give feedback

- Tell Ss that they are going to practice more with their friends.
- Ask ss to guess what the children say.
- Fill the gaps and write the sentences on the board.
- Ask the class to repeat the questions and the answers a few times.
- Get ss to work in pairs or group of four, using characters’ name in the book or their own names.
- Call some pairs to do the dialogue in front of the class.
- T correct the pronounciation, if necessary.

- T elicit name of the characters.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and tick the boxes under the pictures.
- Show ss how to carry out the task and tick the boxes.
- Get ss focus on the names of the characters.
- Play the recording 2 times.
- Call ss to give the answers.
- Play the recording the last time.
- T give feedback

- Ss practice introducing their friend.
