Short story: Cat and Mouse
A. Aims and objectives
- In this period, Ss practice listening and reading skills. They are going to read the story Cat and mouse.
- After the lesson , Ss can:
+ listen, read and understand a short story.
B. Materials
- Ss: book Tieng anh 3.
- T: stereo, teaching plan, pictures.
C. Contents and organization.
I. Warm up
- T and Ss sing a song.
II. Old lesson
- No checking
III. New lesson.
-tell Ss they are going to read a short story.
- ask them to look at the pictures and ask them questions (e.g: What can you see? A chair, a door, a window, ..)
- Play the tape and let pls read and listen.

- Tell pls that they are going to read and fill the gaps. Get Ss a few seconds to read the text in silence. Check comprehensions.
- Ss do the task in pairs.
- Pls check their answer with their partners.
- Call a few pairs to read the conversation.
- T gives feedback.

-tell pls that they are going to practice the dialogues, using their own names.
- ask groups of pls to sit face to face and practise the dialogue.
- Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue. Correct pronunciation, if necessary.

- Tell pupils that they are going to read all the questions on the left and pair them with the answers on the right by drawing a line between them.
- Ask ss to read the text in silence.
- Do example with the first pair.
- Get ss to work in pairs.
- Call some Ss to give their answers.
- T give feedback
- Have a few pairs act out the dialogues.
